A glass bulb within the sprinkler head contains a fluid that expands when exposed to heat. When the rated temperature is reached, the fluid expands enough to shatter the glass bulb and the pressure (water for wet pilot or air/nitrogen for dry pilot) escapes from the pilot line.
Specification
Corrosion-resistant Teflon® coating or white polyester coating
Stainless-steel button and compress screw
Follows installation rules for a Listed fixed temperature heat detector (as opposed to those for using standard sprinklers as pilot sprinklers)
